Have you noticed that flowers have a way of just showing up in your life? Whether it’s during spring when first courageous flowering snowdrops grow their way through the cold hard ground, followed by the cheerful yellow daffodils and purple crocuses. Or your dear friends bringing you flowers as a sign of love and appreciation.
There are no rules
Beautiful flower arrangements are set for you to buy, admire and brighten your living space. When shopping around for flower arrangements, you will find differences. In traditional flower arranging some basic techniques and rules are followed like the ratio between the stem and the flower or bulb. The outcome of the arrangement is fairly predictable. Following these rules will set you up with a perfectly balanced bouquet. It could however happen that it just doesn’t look in your home or it doesn’t reflect your mood. In Floral Design the outcome is less predictable. The creation just happens as you or the florist connects to the flowers and arrange them by their own natural shape, color and characteristics.
A pure work of art
Floral Design is our passion and we think it should be available to all flower lovers! We see Floral Design as a pure Work of Art. The intuitive nature of design asks you to open up to your own uniqueness. In an almost meditative state, without thoughts, ‘musts’ and ‘shoulds’, you let the flowers do what they do best, express natural beauty, yours and theirs. At our masterclasses you will be guided to find your own style that truly enables symbiosis between you and the flowers.
Each flower is as unique as you are. All of your senses are involved, have these sense guide you for you are the master of your design. You will start to appreciate both beauty and imperfections in your flowers.
Flowers just showed up in our life. So did Floral Design. This form of art brings you right back to nature. It enables you to be mindful, aware and conscious. Don’t even get us started on the amount of energy that flowers and plants carry! This is why we started the Amsterdam Flower School. To educate you on techniques, on mindfulness and allow you to explore your inner world filled with beauty and express yourself through the world of flowers.
